Charbonnel inks

Charbonnel etching ink

The binder used for Charbonnel colors is stand oil. This oil is heated to give the necessary viscosity to the etching ink. The colors all contain a stand oil of 30 poises (medium viscosity) and some blacks can contain a stand oil of 200 poises. This allows to vary the rendering.
Charbonnel inks can be used for etching, linocut, xylogravure, lithography, photopolymer etching and monotype.

Black 55985 :

Black slightly bluish very deep, very viscous and difficult to wipe
ivory black, carbon black and Prussian blue
Allows to reinforce the other blacks and will reinforce the bardes of the dry tips.

Black F66:

Very low viscosity and easy to wipe
Medium intensity
Ivory and carbon black

Black RSR

:Powerful and vivid black that is easy to wipe

Very viscous but very easy to wipe
Ivory and Carbon Black

Soft black:

Low viscosity and easy to wipe, it is used to reduce the intensity when a plate is too deeply engraved.

Carbon black:

This black is low viscosity and easy to wipe off, it is particularly suitable for test prints.

with little viscosity. Soft and supple black with a slight bluish tint.
